Exempting yourself from Obama Care Regulations - Is this possible?
I have been trying to find out how to get exemptions on having to take part in the Obama Health Care regulations, since over 222 companies and Unions have applied for and have been granted permission not to take part in the health care rules set for the rest of us. There are several million people in these companies and Unions that are exempt from following all the regulations. I have reviewed the consolidated version of the bill that passed to look for a section that would allow this, but to no avail. So either I missed it or for some reason it was not included in the condensed version. Perhaps it was not included, as who would be so foolish of us to not want what the Lords and Ladies of the East force on us for our own good. After all they and the bureaucrats know what we need for us to take care of our families, better than we could take care of ourselves and our families(sarcasm).
One of the things I could not find is if there have been any companies or Unions that applied for waivers, to not take part in the Obama Care guidelines, that have been declined for a waiver? What does it take to get turned down?
Universal Orlando which operates a theme park was granted a waiver and they have only 668 people in that program. I am jealous of the Waffle House, as the 3978 employees of the Waffle House do not have to comply with the current changes in the Health care reform.
Is your name on there?

I thought the Unions were in favor of the President's plan? So why are so many of them opting out? Could there be more to this than meets the eye? (this is a rhetorical question). These waivers are only good for a year at a time and allegedly will stop in 2013. So we will see what the future holds here.
In some of these situations companies offered mini-med plans to their employees which have limited medical coverage's. (mini med plans do not cover catastrophic health situations. They may allow either a specific number of office visits, like three or four, cover up to $300.00 per year in labs, $200.00 annually for wellness visits, $500 per year in prescriptions, so you get the idea. There are max annual dollar limits in various categories for the employee to use. Which means if there is anything large, the employee is not covered for very much) and they told the government that they would have to drop their health coverage totally if they had to meet the regulations. I thought this was supposed to solve all of our Healthcare problems and it would be free.
I have been able to find forms regarding exemptions for mini-meds but I still need to do additional research for other reasons for exemptions, such as not being able to afford the no life time limits portion or some other area. Here is the link of those companies that have been granted a waiver for this year.
I have been able to find out how you as an Individual, can opt out of having to carry health coverage in 2014. There is a provision that provides for people who belong to a recognized group that does not believe in insurance. I am not sure I want to become Amish, and I am not sure they would even have me. I think I might be disappointed in the Amish if they did take me. This could be a tipping point for developing an urban Amish Community. I am not sure what that would look like either. (Any ideas what an Urban Amish Community might look like?) I probably better leave this alone as I have said too much already.
