I GOT PULLED OVER FOR SPEEDING
(employee story)
Last Saturday I thought it would be fun to take the kids bowling so we pile in the car and I do a bowling sock check, as we are very much a flip flop family, and then we were off. In the excitement of getting to the bowling alley I didn’t realize how fast I was going until I saw the cop up ahead. He was just waiting for someone like me to race on by. As soon as I saw him I slammed on the brakes which made it even all that more obvious that I was going to fast and sure enough he was behind me in half a minute flashing his lights. We were so close too, I pulled into the bowling alley parking lot grabbed my registration and license (this wasn’t my first rodeo) and started to pull out my phone to grab a copy of my insurance ID. I pulled up my Colgrove Financial app on my iPhone and clicked on my ID Cards. To my dismay I had not updated my insurance card since 2014, 2 years ago.
So now both my husband and myself are frantically on our phones trying to figure out how to login to our carrier’s website so we can download a copy of our insurance cards. Meanwhile it was like all internet access seemed to disappear at that very moment. I was getting hot and splotchy in the face while trying to make small talk and act cool in front of the nice officer. What seemed like an eternity later we finally found our insurance cards on the world wide web. That very nice policeman told us to slow it down and to have fun bowling and let us off with a warning. (HUGE Sigh of relief). We also got him to talk to our daughter about unbuckling her seat belt before the car was all the way stopped which we have been having trouble with. So double win. Moral of the story is take a minute to make sure you have a current copy of your insurance ID Cards saved in your Colgrove Financial app on your phone and if you don’t have the app yet go to your app store and download it today (android or iPhone), it’s totally FREE. Actually I guess the moral of the story should be abiding by the traffic laws will keep you from getting into this pickle in the first place.
The Colgrove Financial App is now available at the Google Play Store and the Apple iOS App Store for smartphones and tablets.
